Hey there, I'm looking to get a list of good places to blokart in auckland as right now I'm restricted to a tiny patch of soft sand only usable at low tide and a dead easterly >_>. Any ideas? I'm based in howick, btw

Hi, Go to Auckland Blokart Club website www.abc.gen.nz for directions and ideas.
Otherwise turn up to Bruce Pulman Park, Papakura on Thursday afternoon about 5.30 and come play with 30 other keen blokart sailors. Bring some money to join the club and we'll help you get started.

Thanks Todd but your e-mail is a little short on detail like what is it, where is it and why is it? I'm assuming this is an Auckland based event and those other clubs in the region who are likely to attend have already been notified?

Subject: [blokart] MaxOut 2007 Blokart Event

MaxOut 2007 Blokart Event

Sat 17th and Sun 18th February
Racing: 1pm – 4.00pm both days

Everything is all go for the MaxOut. The long range forecast is looking promising with clear weather and southwesterlies expected.

With thousands of spectators expected this is an excellent opportunity to show the public what blokart sailing is all about. The centre point for the event will be the Auckland Blokart Club display tent where everyone will be able to find answers to their hundreds of questions about blokarts. The Club will be holding a lucky dip competition for the lucky public peoples to take part in some club deuce racing. Hire karts are also going to be available for those that want to give it a go. The afternoon will round out with our race event. This will be our opportunity to have a bit of fun, blast around and show everyone what it's all about.

~ How can you support your club?

The first and most important thing is to take part in the racing event. Come along on on one or both days and show the public just how popular our sport is becoming => We shall kick off with a quick race briefing at 1pm and then get into it.

And while commitee members will be in the tent throughout the day, it would be really great to have you around for a bit to help answer peoples questions and hand out flyers etc. So come along early and lend a hand. The gates open to the public at 9am so feel free to turn up any time after that.

~ Registration.

This Thursday the 15th is the final day for registration so bring along your $20 to the race night and sign up – Nick Murray is the man you want to see to register. If you can't catch up with Nick this weekend or on Thursday then please email your intention to take part to (Address removed) and we will instruct you on how to get your car pass. The $$ will be sorted on the day. Your registration fee will cover your carparking, event entry, club display and BBQ.

Do it! Come along, have some fun and showcase your club.

Hi peter. Sorry you feel a little in the dark :(

If you look back to the beginning of the thread on the MaxOut event then all will be revealed: http://www.mailspaces.com/spaces/blokart/discussion/threads/457153

If you need more info than this or have trouble finding it then just let me know and i'll set ya straight.

With a bit of luck we might even see you up here. It would be great to have you with us... But you better get your skates on.

All the best
Todd

Hmmm. Yes Grant3 turned up with Nicko from Hamilton for the first night. Can't remember what weight category now but will do an update once I get home and look at entry forms.

Remember that you can drop 1 race every eight so the results will change slightly. Despite a tougher handicap after winning the pre Xmas series Jenny still seems to dominating the over 85 kg class. That will be rectified next Thursday.
