MaxOut 2007 Blokart Event

Sat 17th and Sun 18th February
Racing: 1pm – 4.00pm both days

Everything is all go for the MaxOut. The long range forecast is looking promising with clear weather and southwesterlies expected.

With thousands of spectators expected this is an excellent opportunity to show the public what blokart sailing is all about. The centre point for the event will be the Auckland Blokart Club display tent where everyone will be able to find answers to their hundreds of questions about blokarts. The Club will be holding a lucky dip competition for the lucky public peoples to take part in some club deuce racing. Hire karts are also going to be available for those that want to give it a go. The afternoon will round out with our race event. This will be our opportunity to have a bit of fun, blast around and show everyone what it's all about.

~ How can you support your club?

The first and most important thing is to take part in the racing event. Come along on on one or both days and show the public just how popular our sport is becoming => We shall kick off with a quick race briefing at 1pm and then get into it.

And while commitee members will be in the tent throughout the day, it would be really great to have you around for a bit to help answer peoples questions and hand out flyers etc. So come along early and lend a hand. The gates open to the public at 9am so feel free to turn up any time after that.

~ Registration.

This Thursday the 15th is the final day for registration so bring along your $20 to the race night and sign up – Nick Murray is the man you want to see to register. If you can't catch up with Nick this weekend or on Thursday then please email your intention to take part to (Address removed) and we will instruct you on how to get your car pass. The $$ will be sorted on the day. Your registration fee will cover your carparking, event entry, club display and BBQ.

Do it! Come along, have some fun and showcase your club.

Everything is all go for MaxOut this weekend. The weather is going to be a stunner with the wind looking particularly good for Saturday.

If you did not have the opportunity to pre-register then here’s what you will need to do: When you arrive, park your car outside Bruce Pulman Park in the parking spaces along Walters Rd., then walk in and catch up with Nick – he is going to have the registration forms and Parking Passes. Get yourself sorted and then go grab your car and come on in.

I’ve attached a basic site plan for you to have a bit of a nosy at, but basically we are going to park where we always park and set up our display tent on the grassed area next to the Park road. Rather than hanging out where we normally do, we would like to focus our day around this display area as this is going to be on the main drag where all the public interest will be. So after you park up and set up then drag you kart over so that the Mr Bloggs and his family can have a good perv. Plan to come along early, explore the many activities and displays that MaxOut has arranged and hang out in the blokart tent for a bit and help answer any questions that any peoples may have.

Racing will kick off at 1pm.

Thanks heaps and we shall see you there!

MaxOut 2007 Blokart Event

Sat 17th and Sun 18th February
1pm – 4.30pm

The Auckland Blokart Club is holding a two day event as part of Bruce
Pulman Park’s MaxOut 2007. Its going to be a teams event aimed at social

fun sailing rather than hard out racing. Each day will wrap up with a
BBQ.

MaxOut 2007 is the inaugural Counties Manukau Sport, Recreation and
Leisure Expo at Bruce Pulman Park. With 20,000 people per day predicted
to attend this is an outstanding opportunity to showcase our club and
sport in the Auckland public arena.

~ The Race Format
We have been allocated the large carpark on which to sail. The course is

going to be set on the day. You can expect it to be tight and fast with
plenty of zigging and a little zagging too. The racing format will see
you racing in one of every three races.

~ Registration
You can choose to partake on either one or both days. Please
pre-register by emailing the days that you can attend to
(Address removed)

~ Cost
$20 covers entry and BBQ for both days

~ Sacrifice
A shrot sacrifical ceremony will be held after the twilight racing on
thursday the 15th. If anyone has a spare goat or virgin that can be
sacrificed to the wind gods please bring. Rabbits and children also
accepted providing they are in a good condition. Great opportunity to
clear out the house. Sorry, one scarifice is all that is necessary so
only first offering will be accepted. First in, first served basically
;)

~ A little Background info on MaxOut:
The Expo has been designed for Sports, Recreational and Leisure Groups
to display their activities to the public, solicit new members,
fundraise and generally have an exciting weekend. A full two days of
activities is planned on a central stage and display area. Other areas
will be used for trade shows, children’s rides, hospitality facilities,
a food and wine festival and sports events.

The Centre Stage Programme will commence at 11.00 am on Saturday through

to 8.30 pm and then on Sunday from 11.00 am to 4.30 pm. On Park
activities will commence from 9.00 am both days.

There are a bunch of fun events for everyone to get involved in. There’s

a Fun Walk and Fun Run on the Saturday and a Fun Ride cycling event on
the Sunday.
