Light winds on Thursday played havoc with current standings and has set up the last race night for an interesting sail off. With only 3 heavy weight and 4 light weight races being sailed before the wind died completely the placings are still up for grabs. Only the under 85 kg division on scratch looks to be decided. Certainly with John Nick being away for the last race night it could be a 5 way dash for honours in the over 85 kg division between Wayne, Giovanni, Dave, Jenny and Grant. Handicap is also close with 4 or 5 close enough to grab the title. The lightweight handicap has also developed into a close battle with Tony losing some of his big lead with indifferent results on Thursday. He still just leads Jon, Tricia, Brian with Derek having an outside chance.
The last race night will be this coming Thursday(wind permitting) so that the three going to the Oz Champs can complete the series. The final night of twilight sailing before we lose daylight saving will be the 15th with some fun events and barbeque. Prize giving for both pre and post Xmas series will be in about a months time. Can the current trophy holders please polish them and return to me for engraving.
This weekend we have fine weather and light winds with probably a sea breeze in the afternoon. Meet BPP on Sunday about 1 pm if there is wind. A last chance to practice the starts before your final race night next Thursday.
