Hi all from Yeppoon,
Everyone is really busy enjoying themselves over here, The location and sailing has been outstanding, with 3m sails being required yesterday. There was 64 karts registered and a great beach to sail on. I can't rember all the winners but "the guru" got his first event win! We had 12 races during the three daays and every day ended in the resort pool which was great. The top speeds recorded on the beach were on registration day at 73 kms the beach was 300 meters wide and we were doing runs of 20kms down the beach. The first raceday had good winds of 10 - 12 and only three rounds completed. The second day was lighter winds of 6 to 8 knts and four rounds completed. The last day was between 14 - 20 knots. There was plenty of thrills and spills during the event which was great to watch. Overall the event was a great success and the location was awesome and would be very hard to beat. Their is talk of holding the event at yeppoon in two or three years time and I will be back. The marathons were held everyday and where around the 20km mark and were great fun blasting through the traffic of 60 karts.
Thats all for now
Cheers
Richard
