Hi Theo
Many thanks for the update and the earlier provisional results. An excellent showing from NZ and great that you left some room for the Aussies. I’m sure we can expect a strong challenge from those progressing from Production to Performance next event. I see Don was kept busy in an official capacity (Richard’s photo album – thanks Richard)!
Thanks go out from the participants to guys like Don and Russell (Masters event in Wanganui) plus a whole host more (Aus organizers like Phil) that don’t get a mention who help make these events run like clockwork and enjoyed by all. Also to people like you that keep the less fortunate folks back home up-to-date with snippets like this. I for one am sorry I couldn’t make the event.
Great to see the Guru up there on the Podium too.
Also interesting the mix of 3 and 4 m sails – obviously enough wind to make some change down. Now that adds another dimension to the tactics which I see is reflected in the results.
Cheers
Grant

H all,
Just got back to NZ after a great few days at Yeppoon. What a venue!
A couple of result corrections.
Lightweight - 1st Scott Madden (Melbourne), 2nd Phil Ready, 3rd Debs Davidson.
Middleweight - 1st Phil Smith (WA), 2nd Ben Lazaar (Melbourne), 3rd Tony Frischer
Heavyweight - 1st John Nicholson, 2nd Stuart Cooney, 3rd Richard Harrson
Superheavy - 1st Paul Beckett, 2nd Theo Vondervoort, 3rd Simon Payton (Tasmania).
So that is 8 out 12 trophies won by team Kiwi.
We had no competitors in the production class.
Definately need to make this a regular venue.
Cheers,
Theo

Unofficial results for Team NZ just came in by TXT:
Super Heavy - Paul Beckett 1st, <mobile ending with 40902 who sent the results to me (Don?)> 2nd, Heavy - John (Nicholson?) 1st, Stuart Clark 2nd, Richard 3rd. Lights – Deb 3rd. Kiwis take 8 out of 12. A good showing. Well done Team NZ!
Cheers
Grant
