In Japan, we really sympathize with you guys getting some or NO 5.5m practice in.
Weather reports here have been horrible too predicting low winds over the last week and dishing up real terrible stuff.
In 30-degree plus conditions we’ve had to cope with blistering stuff, usually hanging on for dear life under a 2m sail. Getting a few breaks under a 3m and sometimes setting up a 4m to quickly put it away again.
And the coming week looks like its going to be the same again ……. Shocking stuff………
You guys have obviously got the edge on setting up the 5.5m…
See you all in a few weeks.

What a shame for you guys with all the organising done.
Pity you cant organise the wind as well.
We finally had wind down Waikanae Beach on Saturday. We managed to get 20-30 knot winds, gusting to 45knots +, which made it difficult, but fun.
I recorded 70.9km/hr and Baz recorded 68.5km/hr on our first runs down the beach. With only about 6 karts turning up, it was a disappointing turnout considering it was the first decent day for months.
Hope you get another chance at the track for Worlds practice. (NOT!) ;-)

Hi everyone,
So sorry we could not organise the wind for today. Hate it when the forecast, which has been wrong on nearly every occasion lately, finally turns out to be correct.
This would rate probably the worst day ever, with absolutely no wind at all, and then rain on top, still with no wind. Now I appreciate the stress Richard has in making the vital "call" on race day forecasts.
Thanks to all the travellers for making the effort however. Also thanks to our own members. It was great to see all those keen and eager faces.
Next BBC day, which will be our last race day before the Worlds, is set for 14th September. By then all the track modifications and extensions will be complete, so good chance to get vital practise in.
See you all soon.

Hi Russell and all,
Yes well now to add to the mix, we have heavy rain warning as well!
Bring wet gear, wetsuits and dry clothes.

Hope you are wrong Theo, it's howling here today, hard to imagine no wind tomorrow. It's not all bad because only the S. Heavies have ever raced with 5.5s before so it would be much needed practice for the rest, although only for a race or two, then bring on the wind. See if you can arrange another day like last Sunday. See you tomorrow.
