Well said Rowena. It was an awesome sight with 15-20 blokarts out at BPP at any time. Ray brought 19 students from Macleans plus about 5 family members who had a go. All up, well over 30 participated and it wouldn't have happened without the generosity of ABC members who lent blokarts, time, and knowledge.

Special thanks to those who lent their karts (some lent 2 and some even with 5.5m sails and pods), and especially to Alex who drove up from Hamilton to help out and had both his karts on the track. I think we had 15 borrowed karts. Thanks very much everybody. Thanks also to Rowena and Ray for arranging our entry into Waiuku and Macleans Colleges - without your commitment this could have fizzled.

The light winds were a blessing for the kart owners and a curse for the sailors, but occasionally we had 5-8 minute spells with maybe 7-10 knots. No capsizes but some tried their best.

Our mission now is to keep all those students interested in the sport. ABC would appreciate any thoughts others have on how we can capitalise on this enthusiasm.
