Hi,
The larger tube that the fat axle fits gives the rear bar more strength (due to larger diameter)
I used to think that there was less rolling resistance with 15mm axles but since owning a kart with 17mm axles my thoughts have changed.
I have found the larger stubs to be as good as the 15mm.
Cheers
Gazza

From the Manawatu! Go on be a pal give some free advice. What is the advantage of the later larger diameter fibreglass axle? I have a spare chassis with the larger rear tube that I could change all the other parts onto for the cost of 2 axles. I presume the larger axle and rear tube will have small weight penalty.
Also is it still considered better to have diameter 15mm stub axles because the bearings give less rolling resistance.
