Responses to ‘Auckland Sunday’

It was a great wind today but I didn't get out there. Tomorrow if the SW winds stay up we should head for Kariotahi after lunch. Low tide at 4 pm so should be ok after about 1.30.

Let's hit the beach. 20-25 knt winds predicted from SW. Low tide 4 pm. Ideal for west coast beaches.
It's been suggested we go to Muriwai to meet up with some of our west and over the bridge friends with blokarts. Meet about 1 pm. 2 options for getting onto the beach. If you have a 4WD then you can drive past the golf course and the road leads to a beach access down by the stream. You can also park here and it's a 200 metre walk to get over the soft sand. Alternatively go to the main beach, turn right by the shop and there is a big car park with only a short walk through a right of way to beach. Then sail north away from public to stream. Suggest we all sail down by the stream away from other beach users, there is more area down that way.
At last, beach sailing!

Hi Russell,

I would be interested in receiving (as in paying for) one of those photos of the group photograph from the NZ Open as a momento of the occasion. Could you please point me in the right direction?

Good night for prize giving last night. Besides the winter series prizes there was a few others given out along with lucky draws of windindicators, helmet, mast protectors, tyres, mast bag and the 1 metre photos of the 70 blokarts lined up at Blokart Heaven at the NZ open, kindly donated by Tony. The other winners were:
Most improved under 85 kg – Graham
Most improved over 85 kg – Wayne O
Best mishap – Dave Bush for ending up in the lake
Outstanding performance – Haydn, winning champion of champions trophy at NZ Open
Winner of quiz: Table 2.
It must be noted that there were a few mistakes on the 2 blokart sections, a bit of a worry really, but most did very well on nursery rhymes and fairy tales. Puts it all into perspective really.
There were many winners from the partners of the competitive blokarters which is leading up well to the partners "give it a go" day next Sunday 10th being run by Marg and Jenny. Guys welcome to participate in barbeque, drink, and the park golf competition. You are allowed to help the ladies with set up, repairs, tyre changes and putting the blokart away, otherwise over to the blokart girls.
Update on tomorrow to follow.
Russell
