Hi all,
Hope you have all been enjoying the unusually high winds lately. Sounds like some adrenalin pumping stuff at Ohakea.

We now  have the trophies for the place getters in the 2009 BBC Winter Series, which was a 5 race day series raced at Blokart Heaven from  May 09 through to September 09.
This was a very well attended series with many visitors from out of town, all of whom were eligible for the trophies. I would personally like to thank all our club members for their attendence, but also especially so for all of our out of town travellers. Your support was greatly appreciated!

So to the results........

Flyweight  - Cody Ludwig

Lightweight  - 1st Debs Davidson, 2nd Gabe Young, 3rd Marg Murray

Middleweight - 1st Ross Ludwig, 2nd Stu Clark, 3rd Kevin Mitchinson

Heavyweight - 1st Russell Harray, 2nd John Nicholson, 3rd Bob Harding

Superweight - 1st Theo Vondervoort, 2nd Paul Beckett, 3rd Colin Davidson

Congratulations to everyone.  Not sure when we will get a chance to make the official presentations, but hope to catch up with you all in the new year.

In the meantime I wish you all a very merry and safe Xmas and a happy new year!

Cheers,

Theo

HotDog: I hope not the new Bay Park track is much better!

At last we have somewhere (other than an airport) where there are options and racing is just not follow the leader. Last weekend we had more overtaking in a couple of races than we would get all season at BPP.

After having tried the new bay track in perfect 10-12knot conditions today I would have to agree with Trevor... this is probably the best track in the country. (Well second best after Ohakea perhaps)

Winward / Leeward sailing with many options made for very tactical and interesting racing... thanks Don, Les and co. for the opportunity. You guys have done a great job in getting this track sorted out.

The sand seal provides an excellent smooth surface with just a bit of sideways drift through the corners. Tyre wear was not particular bad given the large amount of hard cornering done over 2.5hrs. Looks like it will be a good track in any wind direction too.

I can only hope we can eventually find a spot like this to develop up in Auckland?

Cheers - Barry C
